Golf Format and Scoring

Scoring: One point is awarded to the team that wins each match; in the event of a tie, both teams score half a point. After all matches are complete, the team with more points wins or retains the Cup. Any ties are broken in favor of the defending champion team.

Saturday will be played as Four-ball. A four-ball consists of two players from each team competing against each other in match play. All four golfers play their own balls throughout the round.  The player with the lowest net score wins the hole for their team. A winner is declared during the round when their lead is such that the opponent can no longer close the gap mathematically. Or in other words, a winner is declared when the opponent can no longer tie or win the match even if she were to win all of the remaining holes. (90% of your Course Handicap)

Sunday will be played as a Shamble.  A "shamble" is a format in which 4 golfers will play together as a team. The team selects the one best drive among them after teeing off, and then all four play their own golf balls from that position into the hole. The team will have mixed handicap players on it. Each team will be playing “blindly” against another like-handicap team from the opposing side in a match play format - so you will not know if you have won any hole until you have finished play.  You must play all 18-holes. (80% of your Course Handicap)
